Nashville, Tennessee is known for live country music, honkey-tonks, and hot chicken, but did you know it also has amazing coffee? So much so that it was super tough to narrow down my list of best coffee shops in Nashville. Depending on your interests, there are a number of worthy options in Music City. If you’re like me, and you love good coffee, friendly service, and awesome vibes, then this list is for you. Organized by neighborhood, these are the best coffee shops in Nashville!
The Best Coffee Shops in NASHVILLE: EAST
Barista Parlor
Barista Parlor is a coffee haven with artisan pour-over brews and a small selection of breakfast items, including to-die-for biscuits. After opening its doors in East Nashville in 2011, Barista Parlor expanded to three more locations. You can now find Barista Parlor in East Nashville, Germantown, the Gulch, and Marathon Village. Barista Parlor plans to open even more coffee shop locations.

My all-time favorite location so far is the original in East Nashville. Set within a renovated former auto shop, motorcycles, working garage doors, and authentic industrial accents add to the distinctive vibe that makes Barista Parlor stand out from any other hipster coffee shop.
East Nashville Location: 519 Gallatin Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
Game Point @ Bongo East
Game Point @ Bongo East is one of my favorite cafés to visit with friends. If you visit, try to give yourself a lot of time to hang out there since the East Nashville café doubles as a coffeehouse and board game café (!). With coffee served by the locally popular roastery, Bongo Java, Game Point @ Bongo East features an extensive, curated library of board games for customers to play at their leisure. Also, if coffee or tea isn’t your thing, you can also try local craft brews, wine, and kombucha.
Location: 107 S. 11th Street, Nashville, TN 37206
UGLY MUGS COFFEE & TEA
I love doing my work at Ugly Mugs. Parking is easy and with lots of tables, it’s easy to find a spot to hunker down and be productive. Ugly Mugs also has a great food menu if you are looking for more than just a strong cup of East Nashville coffee.
Location: 1886 Eastland Ave, Nashville, TN 37206
THE BEST COFFEE SHOPS IN NASHVILLE: GERMANTOWN
Steadfast coffee
Germantown is a historic neighborhood in Nashville that is home to Steadfast Coffee, a local roaster and coffee shop that was voted “Best of Nashville.” I agree that Steadfast is certainly up there, and in addition to fantastic specialty coffee, Steadfast has a selection of food, beer, and wine with happy hour 4pm-6pm every weekday. Could you ask for anything more?!

Location: 603 Taylor Street, Nashville, TN 37208
THE BEST COFFEE SHOPS IN NASHVILLE: WEST END
Three Brothers Coffee
Three Brothers Coffee is a seriously cute and cozy coffee shop tucked away in Nashville’s West End. Additionally, Three Brothers Coffee is one of those rare places that consistently maintains the highest level of customer service. The baristas seem to genuinely care about creating an inviting, warm experience and it’s clear the employees are passionate about their work. With specialty and classic coffee offerings, as well as an assortment of light bites, Three Brothers Coffee is undoubtedly one of the best coffee shops in Nashville.

Location: 2813 West End Ave, Nashville, TN 37203
THE BEST COFFEE SHOPS IN NASHVILLE: WEDGEWOOD-HOUSTON
Humphreys Street Coffee Shop
Established in 2008, Humphreys Street Coffee Shop was a recent and very welcome discovery for me. As a social enterprise, Humphreys Street offers visitors the unique opportunity to enjoy a hand-crafted beverage while also giving back. 100% of the coffee house’s profits are reinvested into programs and scholarships that support the students that Humphreys Street employees in South Nashville. Evidently, Humphreys Street is committed to positively impacting and transforming the community. Furthermore, the company is unwavering in its mission to deliver its customers an exceptional cup of coffee.

THE BEST COFFEE SHOPS IN NASHVILLE: 8TH AVe S
8th & Roast Coffee Co.
8th & Roast Coffee Co is a coffeehouse that provides a worthy menu of drinks and food while emphasizing its strong partnerships with farmers and ethically traded coffee. Furthermore, I love the relaxing atmosphere and local vibe. Although I have only been to one of the two locations, I recommend stopping in for a coffee in the original spot on 8th Ave S.
Address: 2108 8th Avenue South, Nashville, TN 37204
THE BEST COFFEE SHOPS IN NASHVILLE: DOWNTOWN
The Well Coffeehouse
As a nonprofit, The Well Coffeehouse is like Humphreys Street in that it seeks to align quality coffee with a purpose. The Well Coffeehouse boldly expands its mission and vision beyond the United States. The company turns its profits into opportunities to provide thousands of people with safe, clean drinking water. Moreover, the coffeehouse focuses on sustainable solutions to poverty. With five locations throughout the greater Nashville area, the location that is ideal for most out-of-towners is Downtown. The Well Coffeehouse is also one of the best coffee shops in Nashville to get a combination of caffeine and delicious food (breakfast and lunch!).

Downtown Location: 147B 4th Ave N, Nashville, TN 37219
THE BEST COFFEE SHOPS IN NASHVILLE: 12 SOUTH
FROTHY MONKEY
Frothy Monkey is my favorite place for coffee in the 12 South neighborhood. The adorable shop, which is literally a coffee “house,” has a diverse menu of coffees, teas, and food. Unfortunately, 12 South is becoming a tourist hotspot so the café can get pretty busy and it can be hard to find a table. Still, it’s not a reason to avoid it – it’s popular for a reason.
